Let us introduce our new, curated, box of our all-time-favourite cakes - in piroznoe (small cake) size.
The box includes:
Napoleon, or Mille Feuille('Thousand layers'), moist and lovely with custard cream
'Bird's Milk': delicate souffle sandwiched between a thin layer of sponge and a crispy layer of dark chocolate
Kiev's cake: one of the most famous cakes from the 'New East' - made with meringue, roasted cashew nuts and dark chocolate
Zefir or marshmallow
A couple of our most popular boozy, chocolate truffles ('little kartoshkas')
Each slice is easily for two people, so the box could serve two greedy people or 10 more modest ones!
About our cake maker:
Born in Ukraine, trained by the legendary Ottolengi in London, she is a virtuoso with a delicate touch - the cakes are never too sweet - and elegance. We are really happy to have her working with us!
How to store: in the fridge in a closed container for 5-7 days, but the cakes will start drying out after a day or two, so don't wait this long.
Honey cake: honey, eggs, sugar, flour, butter, bicarbonate of soda, sour cream, double cream, walnuts.
Napoleon: flour, butter, milk, cream, eggs,sugar, corn four, vanilla.
Bird's milk: flour, sugar, eggs, butter, condensed milk, vanilla, lemon juice, agar-agar, chocolate.
Kiev cake: flour, sugar, eggs, hazelnut, cashews, butter, milk, vanilla, cocoa powder, cognac.
Zefir: raspberry/blackcurrant puree, egg white, sugar, agar-agar.
Chocolate truffles: unsalted butter, breadcrumbs, icing sugar, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, brandy, vanilla extract, walnuts.
