Kraut from Gastrohome: new!
Live fermented. Handcrafted in small batches. Raw and unpasteurised.
This sour kraut is simple yet the best representation of European Lacto fermented foods. Clean and crisp white cabbage with carrots go particular well with our Pelmeny - or as part of any Russian-inspired spread.
About the Producer:
Vasiliy founded Gastrohome – an online grocery and delicatessen store in London, specialising in homemade Russian and East European food. He says:
"Homemade Fermented Cabbage is our absolute bestseller with its perfect balance of sweet and sour, lovely crunchiness and loads of benefits for your gut. Its secret is in its simplicity of just three ingredients (well, four if you include time!), and also in a special chopping technique, which I borrowed from my grandmother Antonina under the conditions of conquering London with it — so steadily getting there!"
Cabbage, carrot, sea salt.
About the best by date: Best Before dates are a guide for best quality, however the product is a live preserve and should last for longer if stored and maintained properly.
Store in the fridge. Best to keep the contents pressed down in the jar to allow the brine to cover the product. This simple step will help to keep the product fresh for longer.
